The Unthinkable has happened. Now what?

While the words are still coming slowly, I am disappointed that America voted the way it did. However, I am an American first. In many ways, I have shattered the glass ceiling in my own life. I am proud of the person I am; at the end of the day I know that I embody what is good in this world. For now, that will have to be enough.
As tough as it is, I will not let the proverbial bastards get me down. I will continue to be a kind and inclusive person, I will continue to donate to PP and do what I can to make my family and community a safe and welcoming environment for all.
The system worked. It may not be fair, but life isn’t always fair. If the system needs to be changed, then let’s do it. But, today, as we enter into what appears to be unchartered waters, I hope we can all stick together and remember that we are Americans first. Every single one of us matters and brings something to the party. America has always been great and will continue to be. Let’s make the best of the position in which we are in; continue to fight vehemently for what each of us believes in and remember that we are stronger together than as individuals. As Obama said on election night, the sun is going to continue to rise. He’s right. What we choose to do with each day is up to us. I hope we choose to continue to move forward and be kind.

I need to start officially gathering material

Today, on a special Sunday edition of “Why is he here?” we look back at the past 48 hours that someone left the dog door closed and didn’t make sure said dog had access to her bathroom. It apparent why Bunny was obsessed with going into the side yard when I was cooking last night. Well, he got a big shit surprise this morning as well as realizing she peed in the house yesterday in addition to barfing. A sad cry for help.

Ah, another American Operational nightmare.

Flight is scheduled for an on-time departure of 0815.  Until it’s time to board.  Then we learn that our plane is still at the hanger.  WTF?  Then, the gate agent lets it slip that maintenance is looking over the plane.  JFC.  We know how this goes.

Plane arrives and we finally start boarding at 0830 or so.  New departure is 0900.  I know this because AA texted me, not the gate monitors.  Those don’t even list my flight anymore.

Board the plane.  Now it’s a 0915 departure.

0915 comes and goes.  Here we sit.

Cockpit door is open.  Captain is hanging out.  People are getting up.  They’ve lost control.

I ring my call button.  One of the FAs comes over and I ask why are we delayed?  He said we are waiting on luggage.  I asked him to check with the Captain and perhaps, just maybe, they could make an announcement so we know what the fuck is going on.

He comes back from the cockpit to advised that we are fueling.  FUELING?  What in the crippling fuck have they been doing all morning?  I got up at 0400 and made it to the airport.  I expect the same courtesy.

0925.  Still no PA.  Captain is hanging out in first.  I have to pee.  These fuckers are outter limits.  Customer Service is dead.
