okay, so I suggested to Tim that we seize the proverbial day and buy tickets stat to Wilson Phillips … who is booked at the Canyon Club in Agoura. Wilson Phillips? Um, that’s right … they were totally in Bridesmaids and were like way famous in the 90s. And they’re like rock royalty. Any way, so we totally scored the tickets.

the concert is 01/11/13 and its such a small club that I think there may be a meet and greet opportunity. which means we need to have stuff to sign. originally, I just thought we’d buy something there, but as I stood in Amoeba Music on Wednesday, I had a brilliant idea. Totes like Blair on The Facts of Life, but moving on … I looked at Amoeba and found two used copies of WP’s 1990 CD and bought them both. I figure, then Tim and I will look like real fans that held on to their precious CDs from the 90s. (did they have CDs in 1990?) so I proceeded to check out.

the guy that rang me up was likely mid-40s. he asked me if I was sure I wanted two of the same disk and I was like, yep, thanks for asking. I said nothing else.

he asked me if I’d ever seen the movie Bridesmaids … as the Wilson Phillips CDs reminded him of the flick. I told him my thinking behind the buying the two used CDs to take to the imminent concert and he totes thought I was brilliant. here’s to hoping I get Carnie, Wendy and Chyna? to sign ’em!
